The magnitude of the destruction this tragedy has inflicted on the small nation of Haiti is almost incomprehensible. The pain and suffering of these beloved people cries out for the compassion of people everywhere for help. Nearly 200,000 Haitians have died, 250,000 are injured, tens of thousands of children are orphaned, hundreds of thousands of people are homeless and relegated to refugee status, 3 million children, women, and men are in desperate need of basic needs and assistance simply to survive each day. Millions are emotionally traumatized.
We are doing our part to respond to the crisis and then to participate in the long term physical and spiritual recovery of the nation. Touchhaitinow.org is strategically headquartered in both Miami, Florida and Carrefour, Haiti and we are networking with the people of Haiti, social organizations, aid agencies, non-profit groups, ministries, churches, medical teams and people of compassion anywhere to respond. As of this writing we have collected and shipped over 250,000 lbs of food, water, and medical supplies for Haiti. We are already prepared to receive and ship an additional 300,000 lbs in February and project we will have touched as many as 330,000 needy victims in the first six weeks since the earthquake. Over the next three months, we project we will have touched 2.4 million victims ! We are hands on, we are efficient, we are committed .. we are your ambassadors to Haiti and we need your help to do what we are called to do.
